How we rank tools
We use the same simple rules for every tool, on every channel (phone, text, chat, social DMs, drive-thru). Here is what we look at:
| What we look at | Why it matters | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing clarity | Does the company show its price in public? You should not need a sales call to learn the cost. | 3 if the price is public |
| Integrations | Does it name the restaurant systems it works with, like Toast, Square, Clover, Olo, OpenTable, or Resy? | 1 per named system, up to 3 |
| Features for restaurants | Is it built for restaurant conversations, like orders, menus, and reservations? | 2 if built for restaurants |
| Real sources | Did we check the facts on a real page, with a date? | 1 if checked |
Tools with more points rank higher. Ties are listed A to Z. When a company changes its page, we re-check it and update the points.
Sponsored spots
Sponsored spots are always labeled "Sponsored." They sit in their own box. Paying never changes a tool's rank, its points, or what its listing says.
Blue Engine
Blue Engine is owned by Marcell Hazzard, who runs this site. It is ranked by these same rules, with no extra points. Its listing is marked "Owned by Marcell."
What we don't do
- We don't make up prices or features. Unknown means "Not listed."
- We don't sell rankings.
- We don't claim we tested a tool unless we say so.
